Paula Town was the passerby who posted the rescue footage saying to Now Wake Up “What a hero, this complete stranger rescued this family’s dog when he got into trouble at the park Pontefract Park.”
When we got to the lake, I could see a dog in the water, it was trying to stay out of the ice, but it kept sinking, “Paula told a local media outlet. Of a life preserver but I couldn’t find any.

Darcy Pell, 31, had been out for a run with a friend when he saw the commotion. As a seasoned cold-water swimmer, Darcy didn’t hesitate to step into the icy water, break the ice, and help the trapped puppy swim back to shore. The man’s good deed caused him to be hailed as a hero by many citizens who have seen the video.
I’m no hero I just saw a dog in need, “wrote the athlete on Facebook.” Fortunately I swim in cold / icy water as a hobby and I know the risks it can cause. I continued my career afterwards, so it’s not a big deal. My running partner gave me a jacket. Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend people to do the same. I’m glad the puppy later was happy to keep walking .
