Richard Buckley, a fashion journalist who was married to fashion designer and filmmaker Tom Ford for three decades, died at age 72.
According to representatives of the couple, the death took place on Sunday night (19), as a result of “natural causes, after a long illness.” Other details were not disclosed.
“It is with great sadness that Tom Ford announces the death of her beloved husband 35 years ago, Richard Buckley,” says a statement.
Ford, 60, met Buckley in 1986 at a fashion show. The two are parents of 8-year-old Alexander John Buckley Ford.
The journalist began his career at “New York Magazine” in 1979, and has also worked in publications such as “Women’s Wear Daily” and “Vanity Fair”.
He was also European editor of “Mirabella” magazine, contributing editor of Italian “Vogue” and later editor-in-chief of “Vogue Hommes International”.
